VANDAL NOSTALGIA is an ongoing body of work built from the things that stuck with me growing up: graffiti, music, bright color, symbols, and the feeling of seeing something that looked like it had its own language.
Before I knew how to explain any of that, I was already paying attention to it. Graffiti in 80s and 90s movies. Airbrushed graphics on my sister’s jeans. The schoolyard “S” everybody knew how to draw, even if nobody knew where it came from. Bright colors. Repeated marks. Music that felt bigger than life.
When I was around ten, I took spray paint from the garage and tagged my next-door neighbor’s house. I was not thinking about becoming an artist. I was just drawn to the feeling of making a mark—putting something out there, seeing color hit a surface, and being part of a visual language that felt bold and alive.
That same energy still shows up in the work now. I use neon color, layered images, repeated symbols, loose gestures, and hand-built frames to make paintings that carry memory, movement, confidence, and rhythm.
VANDAL NOSTALGIA is not about going back. It is about taking the energy, color, and confidence that shaped me and putting it into the work now.
