Artist Statement
I create bold, neon-infused mixed media paintings that explore metaphysical realms, other dimensions, and the mysteries of outer space through geometric and spatial forms. My work blends influences from 90’s street art and graphic design with a modern vision, using hand-built frames to extend the artwork beyond the canvas. At its core, my practice is about energy, transformation, and the unseen layers of reality—inviting viewers into vibrant worlds where contrasts coexist and new perspectives emerge. Integral to my work is a deep belief in the power of positive affirmations and self-confidence, which I weave visually and conceptually into each piece to inspire empowerment and personal transformation.
Bio
I’m xaviergray, a mixed media artist based in Indianapolis whose work channels the vibrant spirit of the 90’s through neon colors, geometric shapes, and metaphysical themes of alternate realities and cosmic energy. My creative journey is rooted in street art and graphic design, combined with personal narratives and family inspiration. The name xaviergray is a tribute to my children’s middle names—a daily reminder that my art is emotionally connected to what matters most. Recently, I was honored as the 2025 Summit Artist of the Year at Art Comes Alive, ADC Fine Art Gallery—a recognition that reflects my commitment to bold, transformative work. Alongside creating dynamic paintings and hand-built frames, I am passionate about the power of positive affirmations and self-confidence as essential elements for creativity and life.
Recent highlights also include my “Velocity” painting for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s “Welcome Race Fans” project, custom Tag Heuer watch boxes for the 2025 Indy 500, and large-scale community murals like those for the NCAA Horizon League. My goal is to craft work that grabs attention, transcends the visible, and fosters energy and resilience in every viewer.
